How we got started
Breath Catchers are handmade by a mother/daughter team in West Michigan.
They began making sun catchers after Gail (mother of Amber) realized that she
had too many glass globs and stained glass from working with stained glass for over
20 years. At first they made gifts for friends, but they soon went overboard and
before they knew it they had too many and no one to give them too. Amber
(daughter of Gail) and Gail entered their first craft show in the fall of 2004 to see if
they could sell some of the extras. The craft shows were so fun and they had such a
good time getting together to make the sun catchers that they have been doing it
ever since. While they were at the craft shows they had so many people suggest
making a web page, that they decided maybe they should. So here it is!
Amber wraps the globs with lead came and places them on the layouts. Gail solders
the globs together in the front and back to make the sun catcher. They clean each
one with hot soapy water to make the lead and glass shine. Then the sun catchers
are ready for the window!
